create

3 min read
To create in its simple form is making something, a story, a painting, a photograph. Capturing a moment in time, or force the viewer to emote, from a moment in time of there own.  Beginning and ending a day with create at the root is daunting task, judging oneself as what do I create. I found this the most challenging more so than the challenge of my physical talents and its limitations. I constantly get caught up, staring at the paper. Tapping my pencil in the perfect rhythm of hypnosis bringing me to a stupor of frustration, hence closing said sketchbook.

Anew, is the challenge I have brought upon myself, forcing out images 1 per day, or progress on a lengthier piece per day. My goal is 365 drawings in 365 days. No matter 30mins to 8hrs worth. On a plane, on the pot, in the bed, at the desk. No matter. Make something. I even taken to suggestions from my wife. Se start my path with butterflies, no Wolverine or some sweet muscle bound hulk, no simply a butterfly. So, so far I have made 3, using 2-4hrs of time on them. To my surprise quiet enjoying them.

my point, by doing the butterflies, I combined pen and ink, colored pencil, and marker on toned paper. Which gave my mind problems to solve, the paper was crap, the color wasn't as chromatic. the black wasn't black enough. As I progressed through them, I discovered painting them would be better time served, in the same time I spend rendering in pencil and maker and ink, I could just do one on panel.  This led to me discovering I like the panel more than paper and canvas. this gave me ideas of how to paint 10 butterflies, on wood panel. This lead me to believe I should try a portrait....on panel. BUT WHO and why....

my kids told me, I need to show my work to more than just my clients, I generally take pictures of every commission I sell. So the said put it on instagram, and there through the magic I found other artist creating everyday. Which I like there images but not there application of material. Which gave me the idea to do similar works with the corrections I believe would make the images stronger.

to create, leds you down a path of searching for your next creation, create learn from it, and move on the better thoughts, with better results.  I think I am starting a new trail. I hope you are to
